The 2-of-3 set allows you to backup your bitcoin(24 words/numbers) in a permanent, compact, and redundant way. Any two of the three Punchplates can be used to recover your funds should one of the cards be lost or compromised. An attacker would need to brute force the remaining 7 secret words if they were to obtain one of the three parts, giving you an opportunity to recover your funds before they ever have a chance to steal them.
The Punchplate Split phrase 2-of-3 set is made to withstand fire, water, corrosion, theft, misplacement, and crushing so you never have to worry about losing your Bitcoin.
