Instructions include easy to follow illustrations. The first 4 letters of each word are encoded in a clockwise pattern starting from the top triangle, one word per column. The words in the BIP39 word list are unique after 4 characters only requiring you to have the first 4 letters of each word to recover. The Punchplate III also has an 8 character note section to help identify the card.
